Throughout my journey as a board game creator, I've come to realize that truly memorable games need to be not only easy to learn but also highly interactive and challenging. This is the core philosophy behind our Zesenai brand – we aim to create games that bring joy to families and friends, offering quick accessibility while providing endless challenges and fun.
As a creator passionate about tabletop soccer and ice hockey, I deeply appreciate the interaction and excitement these games bring. However, the complex operations and larger sizes of these games often limit their use in my family. Particularly, these classic games require ample space and a longer learning curve, and while they’re filled with fun, they are often hard to incorporate easily into my family’s daily life. This inspired me to design a simplified game that is both highly interactive and suitable for a family-friendly environment.
At the end of 2023, I started experimenting with simplifying these classic games. I used five wooden pieces to create an open box and casually placed a cross-shaped rotating rod on top as the game’s “forward.” This innovative rotating rod system, unlike traditional fixed rods, allowed for greater flexibility and could reach every corner of the game. Then, I tossed a small ball into the box and began attempting to hit it with the rotating rod. In that moment, I experienced an unprecedented thrill—it was so simple, yet full of challenge and fun!
Out of curiosity, I invited my young daughter to play with me. When I saw her easily grasp the rules and have so much fun, I realized that this game wasn’t just for adults—it could bring immense joy to children as well. Even more exciting was that she started challenging other family members and showing it to friends, and everyone quickly understood the rules and dove into the game. Every match was filled with laughter and excitement, and everyone loved it.
In that moment, I realized that Micro Football wasn’t just easy to pick up—it maintained the perfect balance of challenge and competition. What’s more, its compact size made it easy to take anywhere, making it the perfect companion for family gatherings and friends’ get-togethers. It truly aligned with the core of our brand’s mission: creating games that bring families together, encourage interaction, and build lasting memories.
After the holidays ended, I returned to work full of excitement and anticipation. I am confident that Micro Football will bring a new gaming experience to many others. It’s not just an entertainment game; it’s a bridge for interaction, communication, and friendly competition among family and friends.
